Blue Plate Radio is an Internet-only radio station.  We use specialized web servers to broadcast our music across the Internet.  From time to time, these servers require maintenance or updates to provide our listeners with the best possible experience.  On Sunday, August 3, our servers will be updated between midnight and 2am Eastern time.  During the update, Blue Plate Radio may be offline for brief periods but should be fully operational thereafter.

A decision on Internet Radio royalty payments has been in limbo for the past 12 months while independent deals have been struck with other broadcast entities.  Without a fair royalty payment agreement, Internet radio stations like Blue Plate Radio, may be forced to close their doors forever!  Help support a fair and equitable royalty payment act!

It was Norman Brown's very first appearance in New Haven and he didn't disappoint the huge crowd. His performance was highlighted by a medly from his second CD, After the Storm, and a great story about his musical influences from Jimi Hendrix, to Wes Montgomery, to George Benson with examples of those styles and of course how he made them his own. He ended the night with an encore of the Marvin Gaye classic Mercy, Mercy Me. There were no CD's available for the show because of a shipping snafu but Brown came out later for photos and graciously signed programs, tickets, and anything else fans had.

Emcee Kevin McCabe of Jumpstart Jazz Productions kicked off the show promptly at 8pm and for the next three hours the music, hosted by event organizer Jay Rowe , never stopped! One of the highlights of the evening was the performance by the Foran High School Select Ensemble on a Special EFX classic, Daybreak. We were there at the sound check and with very little prep, these kids nailed it. Next year's event should be even better!
